Consent granted for Housing and a Care Home redevelopment

Crofty Developments Limited has secured planning consent for 107 open market residential dwellings and a 80 bed care home on part of the former South Crofty Tin mine site. The scheme is part of the wider redevelopment of the surface land at the mine site, assisted by the construction of the new Camborne Redruth Link road due for completion in late 2014.

A spokesperson for Crofty Developments said: “we are delighted with the outcome of the recent planning committee meeting. As well as providing much needed additional housing, the redevelopment will help with the regeneration of the local area which has already recently seen other major infrastructure improvements and the development of “Heartlands”, a landmark mixed use scheme including visitor attraction, residentialand commercial accommodation and park which is directly opposite the consented South Crofty site.”

The consented site is part of the now redundant area of the former South Crofty Mine site, future surface mine infrastructure will be developed to the south at Forth Kegyn.

The agents for the scheme are Vickery Holman, who are now marketing the site and already reporting good interest.

The land has an area of approximately 1.86 hectares (4.58 acres) and slopes downwards from Dudnance Lane south west into existing established residential housing at Tuckingmill.
