Historic building set to realise a new page in its history on Exeter Quayside

Exeter’s historic and bustling quayside is set to see further regeneration, across the road from the Clip and Climb Centre at the head of the Canal Basin is 60 Haven Road;  Agent’s Vickery Holman are pleased to announce that the property is under offer to local private property company EIC Ltd,  who will be offering potential occupiers a unique chance to be part of this exciting re-development project.

The building itself is Grade II listed, with original use in the Nineteenth Century as a riverside warehouse, and later at the end of the Twentieth Century, as the Maritime Museum; Stakeholders Exeter Canal & Quay Trust are now keen to see EIC offer the building for a variety of uses and identify tenants who will further enhance the Quay, whilst safeguarding the future of the building.

The Canal has seen a raft of investment and regeneration from the leisure sector in recent years with the arrival of the largest Climbing Centre south of Bristol, Clip & Climb; The recently re-established Watersports Centre and the new restaurant offering from the Smoke & Ale House. Exeter’s Quay is brimming with tourist attractions amongst an attractive residential area and 60 Haven Road is just next door to AS Watersports.  EIC have played a fundamental role in enhancing the area, having worked hard over 20 years to establish the now popular Piazza Terricina area into a thriving leisure destination.

Exeter Agent Clare Cochrane stated: “it is fantastic that we have managed to agree terms with EIC, who appreciate the importance of this area to Exeter and are passionate about ensuring the new occupiers use is in keeping with the established character of the Quay. Their involvement gives occupiers a unique opportunity to rent commercial accommodation within a heritage waterside building and we are expecting a lot of interest from tenants and businesses with a diverse range of uses”.

The building extends to nearly 10,000 Sq Ft, although the floor plates are flexible and requirements may be catered for from approx  5,000 – 10,000 sq ft. EIC have appointed Vickery Holman and Stratton Creber Commercial to identify new tenants- if you are interested in renting commercial spaces on the Quay, please contact Clare at Vickery Holman 01392 203010 ccochrane@vickeryholman.com or Damian at Stratton Creber Commercial on 01392 203202.
