Positivity in Plymouth

Plymouth is full of positivity at the moment as the economy continues to improve. The past 12 months has seen an increase in demand for property and therefore an increase in transactions. Particularly since the start of this year the market has continued to improve to such a point where we now have a lack of supply of all types of property with demand continuing to increase.

This year has seen Vickery Holman let offices which have been vacant for over 2 years throughout the recession with these estates now being fully let, examples of these are Brooklands Office Campus, Budshead Road, Crownhill and Argosy House, Marsh Mills. There have also been good news stories with a number of Plymouth landmark buildings being sold recently namely Tamar House, St Andrews Cross; Kinterbury House, St Andrews Cross and Royal Building, St Andrews Cross along with the former St Ives printing factory at Langage. St Andrews Court, St Andrews Street is under offer along with the land that was the former Akzo Nobel paint testing facility at Newton Ferrers.

Not only is it good news transactionally for the city but the number of developments that have begun or are due to begin within the near future really shows the investment within our great city. There are too many pending developments to mention here but to name but a small few; the release of the South Yard and therefore the impending development here; the British Land development at Bretonside and therefore the relocation of the bus station to Mayflower Street.

All in all the story in Plymouth is one of positivity, and long may it continue!
