The market for pubs and hospitality in the South West remains strong, says Mike Easton, Head of Hotels and Hospitality at property agents Vickery Holman.
Market for pubs in the South West
‘Pubs have been changing hands quite rapidly this quarter and partly due to low stock, demand is robust.’ Comments Mike
‘Trading history and location are key factors in the speed of the transaction. We have just been instructed by the owners of The Clifford Arms in Shaldon, a pub which combines those two key ingredients. The property is available to let or to buy, which has opened up the market considerably. Shaldon is a very pretty village with an active leisure market and this kind of commercial opportunity doesn’t happen very often. The property is in excellent order having been extensively refurnished and prior to closure was trading very well with lots of support from the local community.’
‘Whilst stock in the region is still low, there are more clients thinking about their short to medium term plans and re-evaluating their lifestyles following the pandemic. We expect more sites to come available as the year progresses.’ He concluded.
