Originally the Gaiety Cinema, built at the turn of the 20th century, the building was converted in 1964, originally as a wine bar and then as the successful themed restaurant it is today. The owners have instructed commercial property agents, Vickery Holman, to offer the business as a going concern in order to maintain the existing trade and protect jobs.
Speaking on behalf of Newlyn Meadery a family member says ‘The Meadery has been a major part of our life, but now we are looking to do other things and have taken the decision to sell. The customers and staff are fantastic and we want to make sure that they are both are taken care of and so they can enjoy the atmosphere, food and drink for many years to come.’
Speaking on behalf of the agents, Mike Easton at Vickery Holman comments ‘The Meadery celebrates all that is hospitality in a vibrant medieval style setting. The business is profitable and successful in its current format and ready for new owners to take on the reins. Newlyn is a vibrant location, and we anticipate plenty of interest.
The guide price is £750,000 for the buildings, inventory, and goodwill.
