I joined Vickery Holman in July 2021, over a year ago now working as a General Practice Surveyor in the Bristol team. I have really enjoyed my time with the company so far, throughout my first year I assisted the valuation team undertaking valuations for an array of different property types, from retail, office, industrial, development and residential. My work is always varied, and no day has been the same. There is always a good mix of desk-based work and site visits which I really enjoy.
Vickery Holman offers many different services other than valuation, from January I will have the opportunity to spend 6 months with the Lease Advisory and Rating team to gain knowledge and experience in these areas.
I am also working towards my RICS qualification in the Commercial Real Estate Pathway alongside working. I have received ongoing support from my colleagues in the Bristol team as well as from my supervisor, counsellor and other graduates across all offices. We regularly attend training days organised by the company where we receive training on the APC process, the different competencies we are required to cover in our pathway and training activities such as measuring different property types. It also gives us the opportunity to meet other graduates across all offices where we can exchange advice and guidance on the process.
