Insights into our Valuation services over the last 12 months
By Samantha Johnson
I want to take this opportunity to reflect on our valuation services as we have reached the end of our financial year. What a rollercoaster of a year with political uncertainty in the autumn and the knock on ‘pause’ to the property market. However our valuation work increased through the year as confidence resumed and we have ended our year on a high with the whole team working incredibly hard to support our various valuation clients.
We have a team of over 20 RICS Registered Valuers located across the South West and South Wales region providing a diverse range of valuation services.
As our valuers have a broad location base we can provide that truly local expertise, which is more important now than ever with the current market.
We also have a number of sector specialists, including development, leisure, healthcare and public sector which enables us to provide expertise within these areas.
We provide valuations for an extensive range of purposes, a few examples of recent valuations below:
Charities Act
We have recently advised a charity on the disposal of a prime retail unit on the devon coast to enable them to reinvest money in the local area and fulfil their charitable obligations, maximising income in the local economy.
Inheritance Tax
We have provided advice on a portfolio of properties to a client on both current Market Values and Values of the assets in 1990 to enable Capital Gains and Inheritance Tax implications to be considered.
Asset Valuation
We have completed a number of council asset valuations over the last few months, which have ranged from swimming pools and leisure centres valued on a depreciated replacement cost method through to retail and industrial ground rent investments.
