In addition to his Managing Director duties, Mark is a Chartered Surveyor and Registered Valuer with more than 30 years’ experience in the Exeter and surrounds commercial property market.
In particular he specialises in providing expert valuation advice including probation valuations; secured lending valuations; taxation valuations and Charities Act-related work. He has also advised on a number of disputes and believes in a pragmatic approach to reach satisfactory conclusions for his clients. In addition, acts as an expert on negligence cases and can assist in dispute resolution situations.
As well as private clients, his public and quasi-public sector clients include Devon County Council, Exeter Science Park, Exeter Canal & Quay Trust, East Devon Council, Torbay Development Agency and Devon & Cornwall Police.
He also uses his technical knowledge and long experience to support other surveyors in the valuation department at Vickery Holman and seems to have a penchant for the unusual type valuations that arise in the South West region.
He is the current Chairman of the Exeter Chamber of Commerce and also of its Property Group and has recently stepped down as a Director of local housing society, Cornerstone, after his nine-year term.
Most of what time he has left is spent like many parents, running around after his children and following their various sporting interests which he shares.
